Goal:

The Indianapolis chapter of the Latvian Welfare Association/Daugavas Vanagi was founded in November, 1952. The Indianapolis chapter of DV is one of many in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe. This volunteer-run not-for-profit organization provides assistance and support to numerous causes both here and abroad, including assistance to orphanages and the elderly, educational programs, and several cultural preservation initiatives. The Indianapolis chapter of DV sponsors several events each year including a summer picnic/pigroast, dance/musical programs, and athletic competitions. Through the hard work of the DV volunteers, the generous support of the Latvian community, and our friends and neighbors in Indianapolis, the Indianapolis chapter of DV is consistently able to raise thousands of dollars each year with which to fund its charitable activities.
